About The Process

Creating small batch, handmade beauty products in our small warehouse is a meticulous and hands on process that blends artisanal craftsmanship with strict quality control. 

Our process begins with sourcing high-quality, natural ingredients from trusted suppliers around the world. We get our argon oil from Morocco, essential oils from Asia, and shea butters, black soaps and raw materials from West Africa. These ingredients are chosen for their purity, ethical harvesting practices, and skin or hair nourishing properties. We have developed close relationships with suppliers and a few cooperatives to ensure consistency and fair trade, vetting each source through samples and certifications.

Once ingredients arrive at our warehouse, they are inspected and stored to preserve freshness and potency. Production is always done in small batches, meaning only a limited quantity is made at a time to ensure attention to detail. Our soaps, lotions, scalp treatments, and hair masks are hand blended and are made with carefully tested formulas. Because natural ingredients can vary slightly in color or texture, small-batch processing allows adjustments to maintain consistent quality and effectiveness.

After the products are crafted, they undergo quality assurance checks to ensure safety, consistency, and efficacy. This includes checking pH levels, ensuring proper emulsification, and testing small samples for texture, scent, and stability. Packaging is currently done by hand as well, with labels applied one by one (though we do plan on automating our packaging system in the near future.)
